Manitoba's tagged fish collection program offers a cloth badge and a certificate to participants. Anglers submit tags with name address date and capture location to Fish Tags at 1495 St James St Winnipeg. A Whiteshell Camp Lake project marked 500 rainbow trout last year with about 130 tags already returned.

Manitoba Commission expands Malathion orders for caterpillar control
The Manitoba Clean Environment Commission authorized more municipalities and agencies to use Malathion against forest tent caterpillars including Ste. Rose du Lac, St. Clements, Woodland, and Manitoba Hydro at Seven Sisters. Orders require use of the specified insecticide, precautions to protect water, public notice of the program, and a maximum of two applications per location before year end. Hanover also given orders for Dimethoate against armyworms and Levin against grasshoppers with similar safeguards.

Cattle Showcase Herds Promote Canada Breeding Stock Abroad
Visitors to Ottawa’s Central Experimental Farm view two showcase herds used to promote Canadian breeding stock sales to foreign buyers. The dairy herd includes 13 cows per Holstein Friesian Ayrshire Guernsey and Jersey, bred across Canada with artificial insemination. The beef herd comprises 14 cows and one bull per Aberdeen Angus Hereford and Shorthorn. Bulls enter the Sire Loan Program. calves are sold as veal or at market weight. Last year Canadian breeders shipped 22,041 cattle to 34 countries, with Holsteins leading exports followed by Hereford and Angus among others.

Mrs. Catto Wisner and E Sutherland remain in hospital with best wishes for a speedy recovery. Ella Campbell of Killarney visited her mother Mrs. H G Morris. Bill Collie of Regina visited his mother Mrs. F Collie, who then went to Regina and Bethune. Elmer and Harvey Duncan and others spent the weekend at The Pas with the Robinsons. Visitors to Mrs. F Collie included Mrs. Wes Rose, D Doern, Allan of Winnipeg, Graham Collie of Regina, and Mrs. Bob Good and family of Kenton.
