Mrs R Kirton and her son Gerald of Iadstone are visiting at the W J Bonner home. Mrs J J Henderson and her daughter Gladys depart Wednesday for a visit to Madoe Ontario.
Councillors attended a district meeting at the University of Manitoba in Shoal Lake on Friday where several topics of local interest were debated. Rev J A Stephen departed Monday for holidays to attend a Winnipeg Summer School and to visit Kevora towns. Horse races and baseball at Birtle drew many patrons with J Warren winning first in the horse races and G Rinzland taking second.
The dry season persists and farmers fear feed supplies will cause significant concern. In the United States heat fatalities total 1,202. Minietan Lodge No. 102 A F and A M will attend Divine Services at Holy Trinity Church Miniota on Sunday August 12 at 3 p.m. Rev F C Whittington to conduct service, Brethren to meet at the Masonic Hall at 2 30 p.m.
Holy Trinity A Y A enjoyed a Wednesday picnic at Happyland with church group swimming and games before Decker’s Horticultural Show planned for Friday August 10. A prize list is readied and community members urged to support the society.
