Mr. T. E. Doran of Birtle was honored at his 92nd birthday gathering hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Doran at their farm on Tuesday July 6. Relatives and most Pioneer Lodge residents attended, along with grandchildren and great grandchildren including David Doran and his family from Gibsons, B.C. A pre-birthday family gathering occurred Monday at Nelson Doran’s home in Birtle before Casper Doran’s return to Kelowna.
Lois Leland and Bill Couling were feted at a Glenlochar shower held at Charles Armitage home after their marriage last October in Australia. Guests packed the party with gifts as nurses caps and a dramatic stretcher display accompanied thanks from the couple and out of town visitors. They will reside in Brandon where Bill continues work at General Hospital.
The Birdtail River School Division No 38 board continued by reading multiple land sale by laws for parcels to Peter Pomehichuk Lloyd Martin Anderson Edith Edna Johns Gordon Harry Dougall and action to transmit certificate of title V2745. Several by laws were read a first and second time and some a third time final passage. the financial report 6/71 was approved. meeting adjourned to July 29 1971 at 8 p.m. Adjournment time 10 30 p.m.
