The Birdtail River School Division No. 38 held a regular meeting at Shoal Lake on July 9 1970 at 8 00 p m. Trustees present included Fulton Waddell Rapley Randell Butcher Lewycky Hames Fouillard Falloon and Armitage. Topics covered included correspondence from various groups on salary, a change order, a business education course, and other items. Actions taken approved minutes June 25 1970 report and building committee report, accepted Financial Statement No 6/70, approved transportation allowance for Mrs George Ariss, signed the teacher's salary agreement, and adjourned to July 23 at Crandall. Adjournment was 11 30 p m.
On a hot summer day the twenty fifth Hill Sunley reunion drew 182 members and 4 visitors to Miniota Sports grounds. Attendees traveled from Regina Burr Sask Winnipeg Brandon Boissevain Dauphin Grandview Isabella Birtle Hamiota Kenton Oakner Decker Arrow River Reeder and Miniota. Visitors included two cousins from Fergus Ontario Carla Hunter from Kenton and Bobby McClusky from Winnipeg. The oldest member was 84 year old George Torrance and the youngest a two month old Bonnie Jean Rouse. A ball game social time and a large supper followed with tributes to longtime president Ernie Sunley and secretary treasurer Mrs Archie Hill.
