Community members criticize the fire brigade lack of organization and knowledge of the engine. They warn the town may wait years for real improvement while noting stalled street lighting, road work, and a pending bank project. A recent trip to Hamiota featured sports and the Dramatic Club production.

The Rural Municipality of Minijota council met June 29 at municipal hall. Reeve presided as minutes note grants and tenders for a Uno bridge, well drill, and Crandell cemetery. They approved a £10,000 borrowing by bylaw, grants to local societies, railway outreach, and adjourned to Crandell on Aug 3. Also listed June expenditures and a lost umbrella find.
A dance was held in the town hall on Tuesday evening with many attendees. Refreshments were served at midnight as music came from local musicians. Mrs Robert Andrew is recovering from typhoid. Mr Andrew and Vernon and Dorothy have been visiting during her illness and returned to Spy Hill. Jimmy Forsyth visits Waldron with his brother Abe. Dr Roche speaks at Crasdell tomorrow evening. County court meets here Tuesday next, July 18. A McLeod returns from B C for the summer. Harry Brownles, also in B C, will arrive soon.
A black collie dog named on Sports Day is missing. Reward offered for information leading to recovery. Apply to Miss Wheeler in Miniota.
A reader notes that Saskatchewan and Alberta need thousands of harvest hands while Manitoba has few. The letter criticizes the Free Press for poor information and asserts Miniota Beulah and Arrow River districts need none. The district can handle 500 or more harvest hands, with farmers each seeking one or more workers.
The Dramatic Society weighs a drama for Fair Day and plans to stage the costume piece Ingomar. The production calls for 20 persons and nine elaborate scenes. Date is undecided. the show will take several months to complete.
Citizens discuss the airway question and CPR line impact on town growth. Delegates visit planned with Sir William Whyte. outcome depends on CPR responsiveness to patrons.
