Manitoba Sees 87 Percent Immigration Rise in 1967
Immigrants to Manitoba jumped 87 percent in the first five months of 1967 versus 1966, with 3,194 grants compared to 1,709. Manitoba accounted for 3.6 percent of Canada’s total immigration, up from 2.8 percent. The boost results from a government program aiding employer recruitment of skilled workers, mainly from the United Kingdom, supported by overseas promotions and a film titled Manitoba. About 10,000 inquiries have arrived, with the Maltese group of 60 arriving in Winnipeg in early June.

Motions on share valuation and sale options failed or passed. Shareholders to pay deposits and additional charges per bushel until fully paid. chair to inform all shareholders.
