Rev K M Hamilton led the annual memorial service in Miniota Community Centre with 1400 4 H members at Brandon Fair and awards for 4 H Dress Revue. D G Levenick urged faith to abolish wars as wreaths were placed at the cenotaph and the Arrow River Miniota choirs performed.

Dodge Sweptline trucks debut with larger cargo capacity
The 1959 Dodge Sweptline line introduces a new body design increasing cargo space. The 108" wheelbase D100 pickup gains over 15 cubic feet to 59.7 cu ft while the 116" wheelbase D100 models add about 20 cu ft. The redesigned body accommodates standard lengths of building materials.
