Cable Hookups Focus for Westman Co op in Brandon

Westman Media Co operative Limited concentrates cable TV hookups in Brandon this month. Eight young saleswomen, led by Lily Yuen and Karen Manson, made over 140 calls each in the first week, selling about 30 subscriptions per person and 245 pre paid hook ups in four and a half days. Subscribers are told to call 727 6413 with name, address and number of connections, then a WMCL rep will explain charges based on TV sets or FM radios and arrange installation after $25 50 including tax is paid. The city is sectioned off and service will expand to six centres this Fall. Brandon and Dauphin remain the largest urban centres but account for less than a quarter of the Western Manitoba market. WMCL’s second annual meeting was held on June 29 following a period of internalization and reorganizing.
