Former Dominion political figure Viscount R B Bennett died at his English estate on Friday from a heart attack.
Memorial tablet unveiled at Virden hospital and a baby incubator installed last Sunday. Miniota WI honors Mrs. W Taylor with a parting gift. Miniota Community Centre votes to incorporate and merge the Community Rink with MCCentre. board chosen and plans outlined for future improvements.
The Mi niota Consumers' Cooperative Ltd held its annual meeting Thursday night with President J J Morten chairing. Don Slimmon presented the annual report showing sales 51077.46 and expenses 750.37, plus loan retirements of 3000. District rep Little outlined two years of progress and expansion plans, plus Rural Youth Camp coverage. Officers elected for terms of three and two years were J J Morten W Howard T Long D J Bell and J B Mitchell.
A cash auction is set for Mr William Taylor in Miniota on Tuesday July 15 at 2 pm. Items include a bed chest of drawers and chairs, a Toronto couch, rocking chairs, tables, kitchen chairs, dressing tables, a Westinghouse radio, Jubilee kitchen range, bedstead, dresser, ironing board, soft water tanks, gardening tools, ladders, jacks, enamelware, cookware, and various household goods.
