Brides to Be Honored At Mixed Shower In Hall
A Monday evening reception honored two brides to be with games contests singing and a school children orchestra. Doris Penalton and Joan Coulthard received readings from Mrs. J. Ire ding and Mrs. Horner. Betty Johnson Lynn Cunningham Heather Spalding and Betty Ellerington brought in the gifts. lunch and a peek at presents concluded the event. The United Church W M S hosted mothers and babies with fourteen new names added to the Baby Band roll. Mrs. R. K. Chalmers announced the update, and Mrs. G. Reynolds welcomed guests followed by children’s contributions and a Presbyterial report from Isabella. A generous lunch ended the gathering.

Rural Council Clubbed Revised Electors List and Grants
The Rural Council met Friday as a Court of Revision for the 1948 List of Electors and general business. It approved printing 100 copies, granted funds to local organizations, requested Manitoba Power Commission to expand 1949 operations, and passed bylaws on property transfers in Miniota. The next meeting will be at the Reeve's call.
