Car Rust Code Now Approved
WINNIPEG A major step forward in the battle against car rust has been taken as a final anti corrosion code was approved by federal and provincial consumer ministers. The three part program includes a care guide and monitoring plan with 1978 models required to be free from surface corrosion for one year and perforation for three years, rising in 1981 models to 18 months and five years respectively, plus six years for structural corrosion. Consumer groups welcomed the move as a major consumer protection advance.
