McGregor Seeks 90 Day Extension on Mineral Rights

Manitoba Hydro awarded a 16.5 million dollar contract to Canadian General Electric for ten 100000 kilowatt generators for the Long Spruce Generating Station. Installation adds 3.95 million, with in service starting 1977 and completion by 1980. Other bidders included ASEA, Marubeni, Westinghouse, Mitsui, Marine Industries, and Mitsubishi. The project on the Nelson River near Kettle Station will output about 1,000,000 kilowatts, with 800 workers now and up to about 2,000 in 1975.
