Funeral of the Late Clifford Hyndman
The funeral for Clifford Hyndman was held at the family residence on Wednesday with a large turnout. Rev W T Brady led the service assisted by Rev P Duncan and Rev A Moffat. Interment followed at Arrow River cemetery in the family plot. Pallbearers included George Littlejohn, Sam Wallace, Spence Wallace, Leslie Adams, and Wesley Hyndman. Floral tributes came from relatives, friends, and local organizations.

The Manitoba Department of Agriculture warns seed germination was hurt by wet fall weather and launches a wide campaign on seed selection for 1927. It offers four cash prizes for best poster drafts and will mail two circulars titled Good Seed Pays and Prevention of Cereal Smuts to participants and interested farmers.

Oil Strike Near Grand View Sparks Leasing Boom
After six weeks of drilling north of Grand View oil was struck at about 7000 feet. The well filled to within 50 feet of the top, though not a gusher. The discovery has the community excited and thousands of acres have been staked for oil leases.

The Holy Trinity Anglican church Miniota held its annual meeting after Sunday service. Reports praised prosperity for the year, baptisms numbered 11 infants and four adults, 21 confirmations, and classes to resume in February. Sunday attendance averaged 53, Sunday school 66.2 with 45 scholars. Officers elected included Rectors warden JT D Lancaster and vestry members Yuarwood Harlin Mossop Ellerington C Warren Horner Henderson Rageley W Watts 8 Bryant and A H Spencer.
