The annual meeting of the Village Ratepayers will be held Monday January 22 at 2 00 p m in the Miniota Community Centre. Attendance is requested to discuss development of park area in the Village former station grounds recently purchased from C P Rail.
The Games Branch will conduct a free training course on catching and controlling predators. Interested individuals should contact the Municipal Office, or their councillor, to sign up before December 31, 1972. Ratepayers who do not want aircraft over their property should also leave their name with their councillor or the Municipal Office before the same date. Secretary-Treasurer R. The council met at the Municipal Office Mansota on Tuesday December 12 1972 with all members present. Reeve C J Page presided and the minutes from November 8 and November 30 1972 were adopted. The secretary presented letters on predator problems conservation and tourism and other municipal affairs. The finance statement for November was reviewed and referred to the Finance Committee. Motions included a preliminary 500 grant to the Weed Unit Board for 1973 and third reading of By Law 1651 canceling certain taxes. A discussion on wildlife conservation and predator control led to a survey plan for ratepayers regarding aircraft use. The council agreed to adjourn for a Special Meeting on December 13 1972 to hear tax sale delegations. A Special Meeting was scheduled for 10:00 am December 13 1972 at Miniota.
Village of Miniota bans power toboggans on streets and limits use to access lanes. Village Constable may charge violators under Snowmobile Act. Toboggans after 11 pm within the village are prohibited. Issued by Rural Council and Village Committee.
