Young Canada Works Grant Boosts District Summer Jobs
The Mid-west Recreation District reports a strong response to the Young Canada Works grant with nearly four thousand dollars raised from public recreation facilities for summer jobs. Plans call for about 12 students over 12 weeks, plus three more assisting in swim programs and aquatics for all ages, with Manpower in Brandon prioritizing applicants. Recreation Commission meetings will open to groups from districts to share suggestions and concerns about grants clinics and community needs.
