The town prepares for a March 10 rink carnival with a queen crowning at 8 30 pm. Ballot counts occur Feb 27 March 4 6 and 8 with final March 10. A 900 plus dollar fund drive seeks concerted donor support, pledges and entertainments to cover costs.
Fifteen years ago Isabella bonapier was under way. Manitoba Wheat Pool discussions were active. The Miniota W I staged a play to raise funds for a village memorial. A village meeting reported 600 dollars available for the year. Sidewalk building and by law enforcement plans were set. Kerr rink won first in All Comers and second in Grand Challenge. Spalding rink took third in Chambers event. A ladies rink won casseroles as second prize in Grand Challenge at the Hamiota ladies spiel.
The Miniota Y P A hosts a Friday night carnival March 10 at the curling rink with races curling for points costume events prizes for top skaters and a moccasin dance. Four candidates vie for carnival queen with 250 adult and 150 child tickets earning points.
