Mission Band Officers Installed as Leaders Take Charge
Mrs G Reynolds led the installation service for the Mission Band officers on Friday and they assumed duties. Mrs W A Barrett read a family story from Iran while Shirley Johnson and Judy Bryant aided the meeting. Holy Trinity W A met at Mrs Bud Barrett’s home on Thursday. Mrs R M Oliver chaired and reviewed part of Operation Can on the life and Arctic mission of Canon John Turner. A $10 Bible Society donation was given and plans were laid for an Easter Apron sale.

Rural Council Votes for Road, Solicitor, and Highway Support
The rural council met with the Reeve and approved joining the Manitoba Good Roads Association. Each ward appoints a Road Commissioner with authority to spend ward funds and inspect within the ward. D.G. Levenick named municipal solicitor. Dr. E. Bjornson to be paid 75 monthly from 1954 with rent deducted for Mrs. Chalmers. They urged a secondary highway from Rossburn south through Decker Crandall Lenore to No. 1 Highway. By law 1237 and transfer of SB 15-13-26 to L. K. Armitage passed. Accounts of 5213.39 approved. Next meeting at the Reeve’s call.
