Tom Rowan a 50 year old Hotel Red resident disappeared on Lake Winnipeg near Hillside Beach after going horseback to a fishing camp. Four to six Gimli men and two dog teams joined by RC MPP officers searched Friday as crews from Albert and Victoria beaches assisted. Rowan reportedly returned home Saturday unaware of the missing status.
Fire at the Fraser home in town drew help from locals Friday night. The blaze was contained with no serious injuries or further danger as firefighters and volunteers responded.
A Wisconsin organization holds a Wednesday meeting featuring a program including favorite songs, a Valentine, and a talk on The Government Home Improvement Plan by J C Vradenburgh. A handicraft Bugs display, community singing, a whist drive, and a dance with 16 tables were held at Miniota school Friday night. prizes went to Mr and Mrs W D Berwick. The White Elephant sale raised about a dollar, aiding the open air rink fundraiser.
