The Ham iota district Health Centre hosted January 21 talks from Winnipeg by Mr George Bennett and Mrs Annette Saltel of The Stroke Club. Seventeen people attended with stroke survivors, families, hypertensive patients, doctors, and nurses. Bennett and Saltel shared stroke recovery experiences and answered questions. Bill Christie was appointed Community Mental Retardation Worker for the North West Service District, based at Birtle Health Unit, responsible for services from Russell to Sandy Lake and Min ta to Oak River. Foster homes are urgently needed for disabled children and adults.
