Mid-west Recreation District reports Cardale United Church hosts a four week macrame course beginning Thursday February 9 at 7 30 pm taught by Joy Bradley from Strathclair with 18 Cardale area ladies registered. Oak River seniors plan a winter program and New Horizons grant meeting Thursday February 3 with Bud Stupinsky present. Crochetting ended January 31 with 35 ladies. Community members urged to suggest new crafts via Recreation Office. Bands to Attend Westman Band Clinic

The Hamiota Senior Band and the Birtle Concert Band will join thirteen bands at the Westman Band Clinic at Vincent High School in February with about five hundred students from the Westman area. The Birtle stage band is invited to a spring assembly at Neelin High School, and the two bands plan to attend the Neepawa Festival at the end of April. A possible combined marching band may appear at the Brandon Travellers Parade in mid June, and a concert is planned in April.
