A Wynona community Christmas program on Wednesday evening features 25 items with 15 by children under teacher Miss Mary Maxfield. Adults perform musical numbers and comic songs by Hadley and Wright of Two Creeks receive applause. Santa Claus distributes toys as parents thank the teacher and the school plans to reopen with her continued service.
The Family Herald and Weekly Star of Montreal touts value with a 1925 calendar gift and a ten thousand dollar contest for timely subscriptions. It notes radio competition and Manitoba government moves into radio sales, plus public petitions about rural society and local opinions on the matter amid births and New Year dances in Miniota.
The last issue misstated the empowered official. Fred Bruce was authorized to oversee the N 3 of S E 12 15 27 rather than N 1 of N EB 12 16 27.
Friday event at Glenlochar praised despite poor weather with Miss Wanton commended for oil handicapped display. Jean Boyce and Alice Andrews won best spellings. attendance prizes went to Nellie Alice Connie Andrews Jamies Jean Bessie Boyce for fifty one open Sundays. Some pupils missed one Sunday yet earned prizes.
Arrow River school held a large SNimas program on Monday the 29th described as bigger and better than ever. Students performed lengthily and varied acts with junior recitations, the patriotic making of Canada’s Flag and musical numbers adding to the colorful setting. Teachers deserve congratulations for a successful program and the heavily laden tree brought many gifts to the late night distribution.
The Miniota event was organized by the Sunday School with appointed committees lauded for competence. The decorating committee and Scouts worked in Arctic temperatures to festoon the platform with delicate ornaments. Two Christmas trees stood on the platform burdened with gifts from Sunday school and parents, each child receiving one gift.
