The Nativity story and carols will be featured at Sunday services. Holy Trinity church's chancel window, damaged by wind, was replaced and protected. The WMS Candle service and Christmas carols with a manger scene were held at Miniota United Church. Miss Sadie Gurr played the Madonna, Ruth MacKinnon sang Infant Holy.
At Strathclair on Thursday last 150 supporters attended the nominating convention where 117 delegates unanimously backed James Ewbank of Birtle as the party standard bearer for the Marquette constituency at the forthcoming Federal election. To boost campaign funds 31500 was subscribed at the meeting.
Miniota W I met at Mrs J C Vradenburgh's home with 19 attendees including 3 visitors. Mrs R Rollins presided as gifts were exchanged and a tribute was paid to the late Mrs J D Forsyth. A survey on farm home improvements was planned, the 1945 program approved, and a $10 donation acknowledged to the Soldiers Xmas Parcel Fund. Treasurer reported about $400 raised that year. Mrs Wal Bonner appointed.
Miniota Hall hosts a Christmas tree concert on Thursday December Zist at 7:15 p.m. with The Modernaires playing dance music to follow. Admission for adults is 50 cents.
