Ge Cee Miss W Bryant returned from Virden Hospital on Friday. Miss K Lynch of Winnipeg is holidaying at her home in town. Miss Gladys McKenzie, nine years with the municipal office as stenographer, expects to leave early in the new year for Minneapolis where she has secured a similar position.
The Ranger Company girls express gratitude to those who answered their Christmas toy appeal. They spent several nights repairing and renewing donated articles and are encouraged by outside cooperation.
Friday marked the retirement of Councillor E Mark after six years in public office. He served conscientiously and aimed to act in the best interests of his constituents, acknowledging the challenges of public life and expressing gratitude for support from public spirited citizens.
About a dozen citizens attended the Minot New Rink meeting in the council chamber and heard a financial statement showing roughly 411 dollars in the fund. A three person committee was formed to draft a plan for two curling sheets and a regulation skating rink, estimate costs, and report in early January. A New Year’s Eve fundraising chance and winter entertainments were planned to boost support.
