Beulah W I Christmas Meeting Sees Quilt Project Planned

The Beulah Women's Institute met at Mrs. K Mann's home on December 9 with 8 members one visitor and two children present. A quilt for the Children's Aid Society was discussed with a Christmas fundraiser and a Lesotho Project donation to the Federated Women’s Institute of Canada. Members schedule a work session December 15 to advance the quilt project and plan a December 19 bridal shower for Miss Carol Ann Gies.

Birdtail River SD No 38 Holds December Board Meeting

The Crandall meeting of Birdtail River School Division No 38 on December 9 1971 approved minutes and correspondence, welcomed new trustees, discussed resignations including Mrs E Barrett and Marlene Macfarlane, hired Edith Parsons and set bus route increases, and planned a K-12 Strathclair addition with a December 22 adjournment.

Record number attends donors clinic in Shoal Lake

A record 437 people registered at the Red Cross Blood Donors Clinic held in Ukrainian Hall Shoal Lake on December 8 1971. Donors traveled by bus and car from the Hospital Districts of Hamiota Birtle and Shoal Lake. Thanks are extended to committees from the three districts and to Helen Shust for organizing. Gratitude to Ukrainian National Home for hall use and to women serving coffee and cookies and soup to nurses. Your blood may save a life.

Park Residence News Visits and Christmas Music Event

Park Residence patrons hosted and visited many families from Crandall Arrow River Foxwarren Oak Lake and Winnipeg over the weekend. St David's Choir Oak Lake performed Christmas music at Park Residence Sunday evening followed by a pleasant lunch enjoyed by all.
