H Barton attended the whist drive at the town school Friday night where winners were Miss Ed Stalling in Ladies, Kaily Lynch second, Hugh Stewart first, Jim Walker second in Gents. A lunch and dance followed with music by Jack Cost. About $32 was raised to aid school sports equipment purchases.
A Monday night gathering set in motion plans for a local bonspiel with two draws planned each night. Dre McKay, the Provincial Liberal Leader, visited town last week before heading to Birtle.

Current events by Jennie Bonner followed, with games contests and a hearty lunch. The meeting closed with Auld Lang Syne.
A Thursday night game opened the Big Four hockey schedule with the Maroons and Black Hawks tying 2-2 on the open air rink. Improved lighting provided better illumination, and fans are urged to support future matches.

The W.!, held their Christmas gathering at Mrs. E Wythe’s home. Mrs Bally read the current eveote, Mrs J R Lynch spoke on Xmene music, and Misses Lynch Ciabers Cornish Dorward and others sang carols including Naggareth and It Came Upon the Midnight Clear. A solo by L Cornish closed the musical program. A dainty lunch followed.
The Miniota creamery opened last Wednesday with about 12000 pounds of cream received on its first day. Cream is graded and paid for. butter production will begin soon as final equipment work finishes. This local creamery invites district farmers to contribute and keep products in the area.
