Canada warns post dated cheques are not acceptable to defer livestock income to next tax year. Revenue Canada notes cash-basis producers cannot defer income using post dated cheques. The 1978 guide says income is reported when received and explains deferral rules for grain and non grain sales with tickets and negotiable documents.
