Oil Flow Through Pipeline To Be Boosted In 1951

Mr Johnston outlined plans for six new pumping stations next year to augment the 1150 mile Edmonton to Superior Wis pipeline. Stations at Edmonton Regina Kerrobert Gretna and Clear Brook will be in full operation by early 1952 with Edmonton at full capacity now. The line will deliver about 90000 barrels daily with prairies supplying 40000 and Ontario 50000. Oil reaching Superior this weekend will be pumped into a spur to Winnipeg next week carrying 15000 to 20000 barrels daily. The project could save Canada roughly 300 million dollars yearly in American dollars and reduce consumer prices by spring. About 350 workers will be employed once fully operational and the line will be air patrolled for leaks.
