Rural Council Meeting Deliberates Drought Aid and Land Leases
A rural council meeting discussed correspondence from government ministers on drought area issues, taxes on properties, hospital accounts, and utility matters. It approved by law 756 for sale of parcels, accepted a land transfer settlement, allocated ward funding for street lighting, endorsed crop failure protection, and approved a $25 grant to the Children’s Aid Society. A land lease with John Stowe was arranged and canceled another lease with Frank Leary. The next meeting is by call of the Reeve.
