Mrs J R Lynch and Mrs A Baldwin and family spent the past week in Branden visiting friends in the district.
Ethel Marjorie Johnston and Donal John Marr wed at St Clair United Church in Toronto area on August 21. Rev A J Thames officiated. The bride wore powder blue lace dress with white accessories. bridesmaid wore old rose. groom attended by Lt. Wm Higgins RCAF. After reception at The Old Mill the couple left for Ottawa and eastern points. They will reside at 264 Pacific Ave Toronto.
Reports from Miniota and surrounding towns detail hospital transfers and nursing studies, harvest progress and a good wheat crop outlook, a church gathering, and plans for rural electrification. Residents mentioned include Miss D Wythe Ottawa Pte A A Mackeen Winnipeg and Mrs F B Davis Virden. Local events include a quilting convenor appointment and mission band discussions.
Rev. K. A Moyer BA leads services at Roselea Miniota and Arrow River with Sunday schools at 11 a.m and 1 p.m. morning and evening services follow, inviting all to join.
