Rus Doyle earns a medal for threshing wheat first. Mrs G Hammond returns from the Pacific Coast. Martin Powell delivers two loads of crew wheat Monday. Labor Day public holiday next Monday with stores closed. William Lindsay receives the diploma for the outstanding exhibit at the horticultural show.
Mrs. McDonald and family visiting Mrs. G. Stowe return to Morse Sask. J. J. Arktte R. O. Specialist on sight testing and fitting of glasses will be at Leam's Hotel on Thursday September 6th.
Mr. Prentiss and Mrs. A Bissett of Medicine Hat are visiting friends and relatives in the district for a few weeks. Mrs. D Lloyd arrived from Carman on Friday and is spending time with her parents, Mr and Mrs J Ringland.
Last week frost damaged tender garden plants and later grains. Ten degrees was recorded on Friday morning last.
The Manitoba Wheat Pool announces an initial crop payment of 85 cents per bushel based on N 1 Northern. The move sets the early price benchmark for this year's grain deliveries.
In 1926 Canada recorded 893 measles deaths including 264 under one year. Measles mainly claims children under five with pneumonia common after infection. Contagion occurs after exposure unless prior attack provides protection. Public health guidance urges keeping cold sufferers away from others until rash appears.
