Canadian Bureau of Statistics revised figures show 1929 asbestos shipments at 306 055 tons valued at 13 172 581 dollars. The gains reflect a 12.1 percent rise in quantity and 17.2 percent in value from the prior year, with operators averaging 43.04 dollars per ton.
On August 24 Miniota No 202 A F and A M held divine service at the United Church. Attendance was modest with few visitors as other lodges offered similar services nearby. Rev D H Telfer of the United Church Vaden delivered a forceful, building character sermon from 1 Kings 0 5, praised as a fine masonics message. The choir rendered an anthem And the Job Shall Be No More.
