Local notes report a community picture show on August 28 and a Bible Band Concert on September 24. Visitors include W Carl Gow of Winnipeg and Mr Mrs W L Dorward with children from Winnipeg, Regina and Saskatoon. Teachers Miss Darratt and Miss Ey Tere moved to roles in nearby schools. A silver tea and home cooking sale raised about 14 dollars for the W MS.
Letty Wanks tied at the Barrett home last week while Mrs J W Mitchell of Swan River visits her daughter Mrs A Hill. Mr and Mrs Walker of Tate Susk are visiting Mrs Walker's father Jes Middleton. Chas Boyce traveled to Winnipeg last week and will visit his wife at Brandon Hospital after returning. A heavy rain across the province halted harvesting but filled pastures. Loftus Johnson, a Virden breeder since 1915, died last week. born May 2 1877 at Severn Bridge Ontario. Funeral held in Virden last Tuesday.
Fred Hadaller and his Alberta Cowgirls drew an exceptionally large crowd of dancers Friday in town. The Monday dance at Bula was also a success and well received by attendees.
Herold Forsyth motored to Stone Wall on Saturday for the Spakling Clarke wedding. Mrs T Conover recovering from a shock after a fall down cellar steps last week with no serious injury.

A son named Frederick Alfred was born to Mr. and Mrs. A. Geib at Miniota Hospital on Saturday August 21.
The wedding of Catherine Louise Clarke to Norman Irvine Spalding occurred Saturday at 4 pm on the Clarke lawn Stonewall. Rev Mason officiated with Catherine in white organza and pale blue touches. The couple plans to reside in Gladstone after a motor trip to Grand Forks.
United States Limited introduces a new complete range of Scimples for men’s suits and overcoats. Mr and Mrs J J D Henderson and Gladys depart Wednesday for Halifax N S where Mr Henderson will attend the General Synod of the Anglican church as a diocese of Brandon delegate. They will visit relatives in Madoc and Coe Hill before returning. P J O'Brien acts in Pettapiece during the absence.
P C Watts traveled to Winnipeg and back with a Dodge for J C Vradenburgh while FE Cullen bought the former Vradenburgh car.
