Borough train delay marked Sunday when Earl and Lady Bea visited N. Station. B.S Woods and family spoke with several party members. Municipal district schools reopen next Tuesday with most teaching staff unchanged, but parents must purchase supplies for their children.
Mr and Mrs G Traynor and Mr and Mrs W Taylor along with Jim Smith returned to Saskatoon last week. The Taylors have moved back to town and will reside here, taking the old Hammond house.
Oil deliveries from the Weils in Turner Valley to Calgary refiners reached 1,199,424 barrels in 1931, with seven years of commercial production totaling 4,677,725 barrels worth about 15 million. The Miniata hall hosted a colorful horticultural show with blooms, vegetables, and prizes, noting dry weather and threshing as factors reducing exhibits. The judge praised high quality displays including plums, crab apples, cherries, roses, lilies, sweet peas, gladioli, pumpkins, and potatoes, while home grounds impressed with large, well kept gardens.
