Dance season opens in Miniet a thie with visitors from Winnipeg and Melita. Miniota Legion hosts film program after Remembrance service with townspeople paying tribute to war dead and a moving wreath ceremony at the Cenotaph.
With Dr. Chalmers absent R E Hei chaired a July 31 meeting of the School Board. They accepted Manitoba School Trustees Assoc. to hold a full meeting at Miniota and regretted Miss L K Lynch’s resignation as Music Supervisor. A move to convert Glenlochar school to a Teacher’s residence was dropped due to high costs and the school will be advertised for sale. Transportation costs were set at 75e per day when Board approved, and Miniota Municipality will pay $10 monthly rent for Beulah caretaker’s residence starting August 1, 1947.
Miss Marion Leland attends a Youth Leadership course at Clear Lake. Alf Bell, former Scotia teacher, visits Hy Johnson. Flowers laid in memory of JE Mitchell and G K McFinnon. W A and WM's meet. church decorations completed. Plans for exterior painting and sending funds to the camp at Gimli.
Miss Pearl White of Hartney visits J Chisholm home while Miss Irene Jones of Shoal Lake stops at C Spencer residence. Mr and Mrs E Paynter of Vancouver visit H E Forster home. G Wightman and Alfred spend weekend at Nottingham Sask. Cecil Bourne and son from Lampman visit M Bourne home. W S Frazer with Gary and Joan from Winnipeg visiting.
