A Wednesday evening shower at the Community Centre celebrated Charlotte Ariss and Louie Wolowich with corsages for the couple and family. Friends viewed gifts as they were opened, with thanks offered and a luncheon served. the wedding was set for Saturday August 7.
Local Home Grounds and Gardens judged by Rev. Clark list winners in general layout plant material upkeep and lawn. Wm Barrett Jr wins first in the Home Grounds contest with Wm Barrett Sr second and A McKean third. Vegetable garden placings include J Grant first Mrs N Leland second and Mrs G Leland third. Birdtail River School Division No. 38 holds regular meeting at Shoal Lake on July 15 1965 with trustees Stimpson Selby Fulton Reynolds Rapley Rankin Randell and Randell. The board approves temporary classrooms at Strathclair Birtle and Hamiota and directs solicitor to draft supply contracts and arrange transportation for fall term.
Local residents spent weekends at home or visiting relatives across towns in Manitoba and nearby regions. Names include J Bickford, Larry Emerson, J ennice Morgan at Bowers Lake camp, the Wm Torrason tea for Mrs B K Lawrence, and Ed Cadwallader undergoing surgery in Winnipeg. Vacation School certificates were awarded to 21 pupils. Spence Littlejohn returned from Minneapolis with family. he won a $250 puzzle in the Toronto Star. Several families toured western Canada. health updates and farewells noted for local residents. Judy completed RCMP training.
