Irish-Canadian links and railway leaders noted in a sweeping report
The Irish Independent highlights prominent Irish ancestry among Canadian figures. It profiles Sir Herbert Samuel Holt of Montreal, his son Capt. H. P. Holt M C, and their connections to Canada’s banking and railway sectors. The piece also notes appointments and transfers within the Canadian Pacific Railway including J M Gilmour, S C Connelly and others, plus a humorous anecdote about Geo H Ham. It ends with a Manitoba school trustees meeting summary and upcoming local decisions.
