Thelma Thornton daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Thornton of Birtle married Charles Smith of Beulah at St George church Brandon on July 20 with Rev J Gemmel officiating. The bride wore a cream sharkskin gown with pink hat and Talisman rose corsage. Bridesmaid Georgine Thornton wore white linen and navy hat. A Cecil hotel reception followed and the couple will reside near Beulah after a West motor trip.
Mr and Mrs Alex Stewart and Roy Wilson of Durban are visiting in the district.
Miniota birth announces the arrival of a son to Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Bell of Arrow River born Wednesday July 27 at Miniota hospital. Gwendolyn Taylor of Miniota is the former Miss Taylor.

Isabella Agricultural Society staged its 3rd annual exhibition and another daughter joined the Pittendreigh family. Regina canoeists traveled through Miniota to Winnipeg on the Assiniboine. Prize winners listed include R Peel J Spalding Mrs Hawthorne and Miss Hawthorne at the Crandall tennis tournament.
