The I O F 105th anniversary will be observed at Union Church Miniota Sunday evening with the local lodge attending in a body. Rev. A Moffat will deliver a special sermon and inviting Brethren are urged to visit.
The 5000 Facts About Canada 1924 edition by Frank Veigh of Toronto is released with over fifty concise chapters on national prosperity and progress. It claims wide continental and world circulation and is available for 30 cents from Canadian Facts Publishing Co. and news dealers.
Farmers expect work to begin on land this week and believe an early start augurs a good crop. They express hope their predictions prove accurate as the west faces a much needed agricultural uptick.
Promoter Tom Laidman announces opening show of the season in Minnesota for Wednesday April 30 at 8 30. He promises entertaining performances and recalls the high calibre of last season's shows inviting locals to attend the debut.
Ester was celebrated in Union church Minnesota and Arrow River with appropriate addresses by Rev Moffat and well received choir music. Anglican services were well attended with Rev H L Roy substituting for Rev Swalwell. A new Altar was used at Holy Communion and an anthem was sung. A Wheat pool meeting at Blairs church featured Mr Martinson arguing in favor and Mr Iverach opposing. attendance was small but engaged with questions and satisfactory answers.
Marie Correlli a renowned English novelist died in Straford on Avon England. An infant son of Mr and Mrs S Babuk died at Miniota on Tuesday April 15 and was buried April 16. Mrs J L Evans announced the death of Mrs J B Evans who died at Holywell Wales April 9. The late Mrs Hofn recalled living in Minnesota with her son the late Major J L Evans.
