At Miniota Hall onThursday the 16th Rev Thomas presiding a citizens meeting passed resolutions appointing a committee to ask the Council to dig four or more wells six feet diameter four feet water capacity to form a fire brigade and acquire a hand force pump hose and buckets A committee of Chappell Shunk Thomas and Parker was named to approach the Council about a manual engine.
The Easter Monday ball hosted by Miniota Cricket Club drew a small crowd due to strong winds and dust. About 40 guests attended despite seeding season and dreary conditions, enjoying dancing until 3.30 a.m. Music was provided by Mr. Aspinwall and club members who took turns performing.
