Mr and Mrs J Greenfield and Mrs E H Woods spent the weekend at Welwyn. Mrs G Stowe returned last week from Brandon Hospital and is very much improved.
The Miniota School Board led by W. Lindsay approved Easter holidays from April 3 to 26 and adjusted transportation fares: Arrow River to $2.35 per day, Beulah to $8.50 per day, March 21 fare to $2.55, Beulah reduced to $1.50 from April 6. Total disbursement $7,670.66. Next meeting called by the chair. April session includes roll call, decorating talk by Jas Smith, cushion displays, buttonhole demo, and community singing hosted by Mrs. G. T. Grant.
A list of local happenings includes a free motion picture show at Chrysler Corp and P C Watts, an Easter bazaar and tea, a community picture show, and dances in Beulah Hall Miniota Hall and Shamrock Hall. A young man in Two Creeks won 2800 in the Irish sweepstake. Jerry Foot ends engagement with Iva Corn and has new romantic interest Cress Corn. Social activity features a Daughters of England whist drive at the Long home, prize winners Mr and Mrs W Jolley Mrs C E Wythe and A E Aspinwall, a United Church Ladies Aid concert presenting The Dumb Wife of Cheapside, and musical numbers with Miss D Spalding and Bernice Wiggins among others.
The A.Y.P.A. and the Y.P.A. will hold a social evening in the school on Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. It invites members to attend and enjoy a planned gathering hosted on school premises.
Sunday School times and Easter Services listed for Jeulah Palmerston Isabella and Isabela with 11 to 12:30 times. Anglican Church Miniota holds special children's service at 11 and evening service at 7 30 with sermon. Beulah offers Holy Communion and sermon followed by Sunday school.

The rural council met in Mintota with Reeve J. R. Lynch. Resolutions include delaying tax sale payments to Nov 1 1938 for several parcels, leasing two plots on one third crop basis, appointing ward councillors as road commissioners, charging for seed grain handling, and forming a committee to arrange seed grain purchase and distribution. The next meeting is at the Reeve's call.
