Locals Report Visits and Events in Miniota Area
Locals Miss Mitchell returned from Birtle on Friday and Miss Amy Hodnett arrived from Brandon to visit her parents. Mr. R. R Chew came to Miniota by train after visiting Summerland. Rev S. D. Thomas invites boys to the Vicarage Miniota for guidance. Mrs Jno Fleming of Arden, Man. visited in town. A dust storm darkened Friday to Sunday, lively yet brief. A leather pocket book was found on the trail north of town and can be recovered by owner. Three quarter sections near Beulah sold for 26,600 to Mr Henry Abel by Mortgage Co order. Blizzard blanketed Red River with about a foot of snow. The Grand Trunk Pacific gravel pit opened, shovel crew arrived. Mail service shifted to Tuesdays and Fridays from Mondays and Thursdays. Canada West magazines available 10c each or 1 a year. orders urged. Two agreement forms offered at Herald office to aid hiring disputes. Rev Jeffreys of Winnipeg visited and approved church progress in Minsota. he left on Saturday via Brandon. An informal dance at Hawthorne's Hall drew about eighty, marking the potential end of a series with future plans.
