District recruiting officer named in MD 10
Alex Cairns provincial secretary of the Canadian Legion is appointed district recruiting officer for MD 10 with the rank of captain. The YPU will meet at United Church parlor after the motion picture on Wednesday evening for a short meeting and lunch. The WI entertained their menfolk with a bridge and whist drive last Wednesday. prize winners were Mrs Berwick Mrs Haddon J Spalding and P MacPherson. Two rinks led by J R Lynch and A Kerr went to Oak River seeking the McConnell cup. rinks led by W White and F Bowman won 29 to 20, keeping the cup away.

Line Elevator Agency Issues Interim Wheat Payment
Grain Sales Agency Limited announced an interim payment of 14 cents per bushel for wheat handled through its network of 2,200 line country elevators under the Wheat Co-operative Marketing Act. The act allows elevators to pool grain from farmers, following an initial 56 cents per bushel payment guaranteed by the Dominion Government.
