Mount Gambier Show Opens With Governor Lord Tennyson Visit

The Mount Gambier A and H Bosisty show of October 18 and 19, 1699, enjoyed favorable weather and growing attendance. Governor Lord Tennyson and his party arrived by morning train and were greeted at Towe Hall with an address. They toured exhibits, inspected livestock pens, and rode the Lakes sighting improvements in jumping horses and show buildings. Despite a slow run later, horse events drew crowds and featured new prize lists in sheep, horses, cattle, dogs, poultry, and dairy produce, with large displays from Mingbool Estate and other exhibitors.
