The Buckham Brownies held a hike at Mansion Grounds and recognized 10 girls Judy Jewison Barbara Trick Dianne Foottit Merelea Buckham Jo Ann Agnew Leanor Buckham Pam Drury Nancy Trick Linda Nelson Vicky Medd for passing their fire-fighting test. They made name pins sang and played to honor the Easter to Summer inspection winner Elves. Two Brownies moving to Peterborough received gifts and Vicky Medd presented Merilea Buckham a gift while Linda Snelgrove gifted Leanor Buckham. The girls sang For they are jolly good Brownies and performed the Grand Howl before closing with Brownie Taps. They thanked Bonnie Blencowe Betty Raper and Mrs Reg Duffy for support with fire-lighting testing.

The funeral of the late Rob ert Ormus Larmer of Millbrook was held at Comstock's funeral home Peterborough on Friday August 29 at 2 30 p m after a heart attack on Tuesday August 26. Interment followed at Centreville Cemetery with Rev A L Shorten officiating. He was a lifelong farmer. He leaves a large family including three daughters and four sons, a sister and two brothers. An Oddfellows service was held Thursday evening. Pallbearers included Reginald Fallis Allan Earle Robert Larmer Keith Larmer and Edmund Morrison.
