Professional cards five lines or fewer cost five dollars per year. Farms for sale run one month at one dollar and 75 cents per inch thereafter. Stray animal ads priced at one dollar for three insertions. Two to three line ads, Lost, House to Let, Servant Wanted, etc, priced at one dollar per month. Local notices charged seven cents per line per insertion with black line locals at twenty five cents per line. Free locals under twenty five cents.

Peterboro council granted a 20 year franchise to the Canadian General Electric Company for an electric street railway. They must build over a mile by August 1 next, another mile in 1894 95, and a half mile in 1896 with a Five thousand dollar deposit as good faith guaranty.
