A local surprise party led by the Pork Ning featured The Campbell's are Coming and readings by the Wilson Brothers. Music was by Wm Noble and John Liggett, with E Wilson and others enjoying the event. Miss Allie Smith of Cavan visits, and sawing bees are popular. A boat incident at Garden Hill involved two youths acting cannibals. Mrs Rooney recovers from grip, while Rev Hrew Macuiniay of Elmsdale, N S thanks K D C as a long standing stomach and liver patient.
A Friday concert in S. S. No. 5 features Jas Wilson H Anderson and H Preston of Bethany as vocalists, L A Mills Fraserville J D Denny Mount Pleasant Lottie Cook Helen Lough, Hutchinson and Mount Pleasant orchestras. Mr Henry Staples chairs. J A Kelly and company may attend. Proceeds support local school needs.

Tamblyn leaves the butcher trade for a shop in Port ope. Miss Tamblyn resumes teaching and plans a schoolhouse event next Friday. David Barkwell recovering from illness. Wesley White returns home to Thornhill after winter visit. Lawrence Lockhart to build a new house this summer. James Gordon and A. Carruthers built a shingle mill this winter. I. M. Tamblyn adds horse shoeing with a top shoer. Oak Hill church specials end. Mr. Foster led a good work. Dr. Beatty decides to stay at Centreville.
Owing to cold weather our correspors failed to appear last week. Ms. 13. Hanna departs to the distant west. Mr. K. Brown of Cavam visited James Wonner. Mrs. Thos Lee of Lin say stayed with Mrs. Wm. Lee and returned home Saturday. Several village moves occurred. Fitch moved, Lytle moved to Fitch’s former, Robert Lytle to Whitesides’ house, and Whitesides’ Bros. occupy Lytle farm. Joseph Bitton leases his blacksmith shop and plans to move to Peterboro. David Murphy, enduring spinal disease, died March 1 after three years of illness. burial at St. John's cemetery, Cavan, with many friends present.

Mrs Sanderson wife of John Sanderson died Friday after a lingering illness. She will be missed by family and many friends. Mr McKim has moved and is shoeing horses across the bridge. A blacksmith shop is needed at the east end. A high school concert is planned for Thursday evening March 22 with a promising program. Knight the popular school inspector spent part of the week here on school work. This is moving month with streets filled with loads and windows being replaced. Town council is urged to clear sidewalks of snow. The sun is faithful but slow in drifted work.
Mr Charters of Toronto and Miss Lou McIver visit Rev John Ewing. Mr Parkinson of Mariposa tours our area. Rev Mr Adamson preached acceptably last Sunday. Patrons of Industry meeting with lodge members drew a large audience. Mr Wm Brown of Pontypool returns to reside here. Sanitary conditions poor and health officer active this spring. Gardiner and Shield dissolve partnership. Gardiner continues the business. Sleighing party from town and Ida enjoyed a pleasant evening with friends. Malaria noted. Isabella wife of Robert Deyell died in Millbrook on Sunday March 11 1893 at age 43. The notice records the name and age of the deceased and her relation to the husband.
