St Andrews 8 Group March Meeting Held at Don Stevens Home

St Andrew's 8 group met at Mrs Don Stevens home with opening worship and Lord's Prayer. Mrs Gerald Hubbeard led devotion. Secretary Mrs David Armstrong read February minutes. 19 members and one visitor attended. Treasurer reported 5.31 balance after 50 paid to Mrs Payne. Rumage Sale discussed for March 29 in Waiting Room. Banquet for Chamber of Commerce Agricultural Committee planned for April 29. Next meeting set for April 16 at Mrs John Elgar's home. Supper hosts listed.

Capt Geo Hacking Honoured At Presentation Dinner

Captain Geo Hacking and Mrs Hacking were guests of honour at a dinner at Millbrook Armoury with 82 members of C and D Companies Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment present. Lt Col Angus Duffy spoke on the militia role in peacetime. Major C C Sowden praised Capt Hacking’s long service. The presentation was by Set J Z Raper and the evening ended with dancing. Out of town guests came from Belleville Norwood Bowmanville and Port Hope.
