John A. Choules, son of Mr and Mrs G F Choules of Toronto and grandson of Mr H P Kent, was christened at St Thomas Anglican Church on Sunday July 13 at 2 30 pm by Rev G E Meade. Attending were Mrs H Leeder of Vancouver Miss McGregor Norval Mr Donald Kent Millbrook and Mr H A Kent and daughter April. The Kent family held their first reunion in 10 years at the home of Mr H P Kent and his sister Miss Kent on King Street.

Millbrook girls opened at Fair Grounds last Thursday with a 24 to 5 win over Newcastle but Newcastle responded Monday night with four new players and a strong pitcher to win 11 to 5. Millbrook were short three regulars and used Elinore Crowley from the stands in right field before Ruth Farr replaced her in the fifth. This marked Newcastle's first win of the season and could spark a late playoff push.
