On Wednesday evening at Bailichore Mrs. R Reid hosted a wedding uniting her youngest daughter Hattie to Geo Eagleson of Cavan. Rev W C Allen of Millbrook officiated. Bridesmaid Miss Minnie Lucas, groom's brother H Eagleson of Toronto attended. The couple left for their future home amid friends best wishes.
Pontypool Manvers discusses June 1 1894 municipal candidates and the Pontypool Methodist church anniversary set for December 24 25 with sermons by Rev Michael Fawcett of Toronto and Rev John McKee. A Christmas supper and platform meeting follow. several invited speakers include Rev D N McCamus Rev W G Clark Rev J R Real and Rev Robi McCullough. Local arrivals departures and community updates mention Mr Thomas Ridge in Ohio visiting, Mrs Dawson visiting, Rolston Staples moving to Havelock, and Geo B Stanton taking a government mail clerk post on the Barrie to Penetanguishene line.
The Foresters' concert ended financially unsatisfactory yet earned praise for its creditable programme. Walter Saddler offered notable piano solos for his age while James Wilson sang comic numbers with affable style. Mount Pleasant orchestra and Peterboro harmony club stirred the audience with musical zeal as Prof. Stuart delivered humorous songs.
Mr Walter Mc Lean read a Dutch selection with expression and harmony club members gave darkey sketches and instrumental duets. The chair was filled by Harry Ward ex M P Port Hope. After the programme, all performers and Court Primrose members were feted. Visitors included Mr and Miss McFarlane Miss Ella Best Mr Wallace and Master A P McLean of Peterboro. Manvers council met Saturday December 9 1893 with all members present. Reeve chaired and minutes of prior meeting were approved. A refund request for statue labour charges was denied as correct per property valuation. Requests to remove a fence and to procure clothing for Adam Wilson were acted on. clothing for indigent Adam Wilson to be supplied. A detailed 1893 Board of Health expense statement was requested. A road job payment claim by John Somerville was referred to the road commissioner. A by law to appoint deputy returning officers and election polling places was introduced and read. Various treasurer orders were approved and the meeting adjourned to December 15.
