Reunion Of Staples Clan Grows Across Us And Canada
More than 500 Staples descendants gathered for the first reunion in 33 years, tracing roots to Thomas Staples and Jane Bell who left Ireland in 1823 for Cavan Township. The August memorial service at St. John's Cemetery Ida featured Rev. Burn and Rev. David Staples, with music by the Pitts family. A Peterborough picnic followed, and committee president O. Staples noted the death of Edgar Staples and announced a Staples Genealogy to be published in November.
